Does It Come in My Size?

I'm really, really, proud of this one. I wanted to use up the bit of leftover Fleece Artist sock yarn in a way that would highlight its beauty and glow. I started off with a pattern from an old leaflet but, frankly, by the time I was done, I had altered the original so drastically that it feels like my design. I had to rip back the bodice three times to get the shape and size exactly to my vision.

Is it weird that a grown woman does this?

No, it's not weird at all. I LOVE to make Barbie clothes, I used to crochet them with bedspread weight cotton. Time consuming, but I loved to do them, and the girls loved to get them. Unfortunately, one day I saw a bunch of my home crocheted Barbie clothes all scrunched up in a toy box, along with the store bought, and my feelings were hurt. That was the end of doll clothes for me!!

Not weird...

...says the girl who didn't play with Barbies until she was in high school and only then to design clothes for them (always with the fantastic notion that maybe some Barbie design would be doable in Marin size).

No, I think you're perfectly within normal range.

People do it all the time with those Blyth dolls... I would think the larger size of a Barbie would make designing her clothes more enjoyable/somewhat less frustrating! The dress looks fab!

It's no weirder than knitting miniture socks and egg cozies. The dress looks great btw.
